I must have been 14 or 15 years old, my world was about going to school, hanging with friends and lots and lots of horse-back riding.
I had no clue about Qigong, China, Qi or martial arts. Even so I had no clue about paranormal abilities. Not even my own. Although I did see white light around everything living and I saw ghosts, but I knew nothing about the works of Qi.
My world was pretty small at that time growing up in a small city near the sea in Holland. One of my best friends had to go to the hospital to have pins removed from her leg. She was born with a crippled leg. The doctors had broken the leg and put pins in it, to straighten the lower leg and ankle. My friend was of course very scared for this procedure, so I was there with her in the hospital to keep her comfort and hold her hand.
We were waiting in a waiting room for the X-rays to be ready so the pins could safely be taken out. An older woman stepped into the room. She must have been 65 or so, but even so she looked very vital and worldly. I liked her instantly and that is why I payed attention to her story. She was talking to the doctors asking them for an X-ray of her arms. She wanted to be sure the bones in her arms were okay.
What a strange request, I thought. Apparently there is nothing wrong with her and her arms move perfectly. And then she told the doctors the most amazing story. Still after more than 30 years her story is anchored in my memory as one of the most significant events in my life.
The woman told the doctors she had been travelling throuhg China, mostly through nature, for as it seemed to me, for a long period of time. At a acertain time she had a really nasty accident, which I do not recall, sorry for that. She had broken both her underarms. This was absolutely horrifying. Just as horrifying as the pins sticking out of my friend legs, waiting to be removed.
The doctors listened quietly to her story. I saw the disbelief in their faces because this woman was showing two healthy and strong arms, she could not have possibly have broken her arms in the past two months.
She continued her story, the two men, her guides brought her to a cave in a nearby area. They carried her because she was in so much pain. In the cave lived an old Chinese man who could help her. It was a really dangerous situation for her, not only because there were not any hospitals nearby but she was not able to travel by herself anymore. How would she ever get back to the Netherlands? She was a Dutch woman by the way.
So she was brought to the old Chinese man in the cave. The man put big green leaves on her arm for refreshment and relieving the pain. Then he focused intensely on her arm, mumbling some strange words. After these seemingly insignificant practices the man told her to move her arms. Of course she was reluctant, but she could feel no pain anymore.
She could move both her arms without pain! She lifted the green leaves and she saw the fractures were healed. Her arms were completely healthy and there was no apparent sign of being broken, which was at first very visible.
It was an amazing story about an amazing healing. The old mumbling man in the cave had healed both her arms in minutes. The woman was able to continue her travels without any problems.
Such a strange story! I had never heard something like that, and neither did the doctors in the waiting room. I, myself, had broken my arm twice when I was a child, and I remember how much time it took to heal. I could clearly envisage how it must have been for the woman.
The situation was so strange, being in the hospital room with my friend who had her leg in pins, which looked pretty barbaric. The older woman telling her story and the doctors who did not know what to think of it. At some points in life new and strange information enters your system, this was definitely one of those moments for me.
Eventually the doctors took X-rays of both arms of the woman. Clearly there were visible tiny scars on the bones indicating there had been fractures. The strange thing was, the bones had healed perfectly. Normally in western medicine broken bones do not usually grow together perfectly.
I never saw the woman again, I do not even know her name. How big are the odds to meet someone who has experienced such an amazing form of healing? From that day on, my mind had expanded. It was possible to heal broken bones in a fast and painless way. How amazing! The woman was truly sincere I could see it in her eyes, she did not have any hidden agenda, she was not trying to convince anyone. She simply was astonished what had happened to her and she wanted to have some sort of proof for herself.
Now many years later, as a Qigong teacher, I get a lot of questions about the healing effects of Qigong, the form I practice. And of course I meet critique, how is it possible that one can heal oneself from serious diseases?
How come I so strongly believe this? Well I just told you the experience of this woman who had met a Qigong-master in the cave. He emitted Qi to her and the bones reset themselves to a healthy state. Very simple.
The Qigong master had trained so long and with such persistence he had increased his abilities to adjust matter and send information to a person to speed up the healing proces. By changing the information in her cells he was able to make the bones heal. And that is why I’m convinced Qigong, can do incredible things for you.
It did so for me, which I will share in other stories. And for my friend, her leg got a bit better. If she would have grown up in the proximity of a Qigong master she probably had practiced a lot and healed her crippled leg just by using Qi.
